Re: S 2068 Smart guns in 3 Years
And how about the 60 million or so handguns currently out there?
It is such a dependable system, law enforcement will be excluded from the bill.
Markey, the initiator of the bill, has been a long time enemy of firearm ownership and none of his ideas or prior pieces of proposed legislation ever got to first base. As a political hack he is a loser and will continue to be so.

This is about slow and steady progressive change. They're looking at 10-15 years ahead. Remember, in Germany gun registration began over a decade before Hitler reigned. These people have time, money and power to do what they want. Right now only our voices stand between freedom and tyranny. Once we become too complacent it's over.

Re: S 2068 Smart guns in 3 Years
This bill will go nowhere whatsoever. Ed Markey is a career loon from Massachusetts where he wins by 20% every election, and sometimes does not even face an opponent. He has no idea what the rest of the country is like.
There is a gun shop in Kalifornia that is getting boycotted as we speak for hosting a demonstration of a smart gun at its shop. Apparently they never even put the "smart" gun for sale, but it raised the ire of a lot of people, enough that the shop is scrambling to fix the PR mess.
It is being discussed here http://forum.pafoa.org/national-11/2...smart-gun.html
"Smart" guns are extremely unpopular in the U.S. This bill is going nowhere.
Now, if Ruger or Remington, or one of the big boys starts making a smart gun, and lobbies congress to require them, then we will be in trouble. It isn't the loons who will beat us. Its our friends who can make a few billion by going crony with the Feds to watch for.Sic semper tyrannis
