Re: Finally got a new scale
An update on this. I've found that if I calibrate, zero the scale without the pan, and calibrate again it seems to work much better. After the second calibration, the scale goes to 0.00 much faster after removing the weights.

I've had and used an Ohaus M-5 since around 1970. Still use it. Has a cover. Knife-edge fulcrum on agate v-blocks. Nothing to go wrong, very sensitive.

Re: Finally got a new scale
When I got back into reloading last summer, I broke out and set up my old but serviceable Dillon 550 progressive equipment and so I went to work loading at first only .38/.357. I soon expanded to .45ACP and 9x19mm.
I saw immediately that I needed a better, faster scale!! I went for the Dillon digital scale and a Dillon primer pocket swadger.. Both work well and I am satisfied w them. Dillon has GREAT customer service..even for loaders which were bought 25+ years ago!!
I like to weigh "powder throws" reasonably frequently during a 'run' of loading..the digital scale, once set up and "zeroed" can weigh a throw of powder in just a few seconds, not the frustrating minutes like an old balance beam scale! Aaaahhhhhh! ;-)
