    4. (BIGGEST REASON) The people bashing Hi-Point know NOTHING about them beyond "They're those cheap-ass, dangerous handguns that only the inner city kids use because they're cheap and easy to get!" that they heard from that guy on their block who must be a firearms expert because he is either a cop or a hunter who owns a 30-30 and a 12 gauge.

But yeah. Go ahead and bash a company that:

    1. Makes a firearm that is notoriously reliable and goes bang every time.
    2. Makes it inexpensive enough that even someone on a limited budget can afford a decent self-defense weapon.
    3. Further cuts down the price by not wasting money and resources on style.
    4. Makes their product right here in America for fair wages,
    5. And backs their weapons by just about the best warranty in the industry, not to mention top-notch customer service.

Would I carry a Hi-Point? Absolutely. Would I prefer to? No. But if that's what was available to me, I'd have no problem trusting its performance.
This post should be made a "Sticky". Couldn't have said it better, my hat is off to you sir!

A hi point will probably be the next handgun I buy, just so I can go in the interwebz and say "Hey Ahole, Ask a man who owns one"
And I think they make my ass look skinny when I oc
    Now, 9mm or .45?
And I want the carbine in the same caliber.
Takes the same mags as the Handgun.

If I didn't know better, I would think that snakeman here was the founder and designer of the hi point pistol, lol!

Hi point...hmmm, let me see. I have held a few...shot one. My thoughts:

Yup, when I pulled the trigger, it went bang. Most guns do.
When I aimed, the bullet went where I wanted it to. Again, most guns do.
They probably can take a beating and keep on working. Many will.
Did I fall in love with the gun? Nope. I don't particularly care for revolvers in general either. Would I carry it? Well, if I had to. If it was what I could afford. I own sub $1K ARs because that's what I can afford (or what I am willing to spend on one at least.)

I don't hate the hi point, but it isn't my preference. If you like it, great, enjoy. If one day I have to sell all of my guns and can only afford to keep one hi point for self defense, then so be it.

I missed buying a carbine and handgun in .45 by an hour or so when I was at the Oaks show in February. The guy sold his last .45 carbine not to long before I got to his table. He had his guns priced well and for less than $400 I would have had a matching battery.

Just want to throw out there that I would buy a Hi-Point before a Glock and I have no hate toward the Glocks. Neither gun is what I personally like but I would buy a Hi-Point because it is so dam cheep and I can always use another gun. Plus if I buy one and hate it I can sell it quickly and lose very little money.
    Some people just plain suck.
If you're gonna be dumb ya gotta be tough.

there have been plenty of people that have experienced problems with hipoint pistols and there are plenty of people that have had nothing but success with them. i wouldn't buy one because they are ugly and while they may work you get what you pay for in terms of quality. a 150 dollar pistol is just that a 150 dollar pistol that doesn't compare in quality to a beretta, glock, sig, hk, s&w or ruger to name a few. with that said i wouldn't critisize any one that purchased a hipoint because everyone can't afford a glock or doesn't want to spend 800 on a SIG because they have other priorities. if asked my recommendation would be to purchase one of the COMBLOC milsurp pistols before i'd recommend purchasing a hipoint. great that there is a company producing firearms that are affordable to everyone but there are better options at not that much of a price increase.
