Several people injured in Pittsburgh-area shooting

NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. — Several people have been injured in a shooting at a Pittsburgh-area restaurant.

The shooting occurred early Sunday at Nigro's Restaurant in North Versailles.

Restaurant manager Gina Furlano says three shots were fired inside the restaurant at 1:30 a.m. She says she doesn't know how many people were hurt, but that those with injuries were treated at area hospitals.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that four people are believed to have been shot. A person who answered the phone at the restaurant says he believes three were shot.

Police working on the case could not be reached for comment.

North Versailles is about 10 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

channel 11 news on fox 53 (still cracks me up the local fox affiliate sub-contracts their news out to a competing station) just reported that ex-steeler safety russell stuvants (who was on the team for the superbowl XL win) was one of the people shot.

hope gun runners of pa steered clear of the bullets! (he's from n. versailles).

I wonder why there are so little details to this story.... I mean People go out to eat at a restaurant and NO ONE gets shot and its plasterd all over the place... Now with this.. there is no details...

Did one guy come in and just target people? or was any one in the restaurant armed and returned fire? It kind of looks like they don't want to many details because of how badly they went on and on about how could anyone need to bring a firearm to dinner with their family..... I really hope there are more details than this.....

i don't think there is any "they" in this case. the two incidents happened on opposite sides of the state. i doubt channel 11 news here in pittsburgh is even aware of the DC incident let alone covered it.

i think the lack of details is prolly just a reflection of the reporters not knowing any more details yet.

I know exactly where that place is...

When I was out in Pitt of for the ACSL banquet/FOAC meeting/PAFOA Group Shoot, gnbrotz and myself drove right by that place on our way to the FOAC meeting... I remember the name since it was unusual.
