Re: sks accuracy???
Yea I noticed that after I posted, but still thats awful hard to beleve, on the same subject I took my SKS out today and had a ball with it, have not shot with open sights in a very long time, gotten to used to a scope, but with the factory open sight I was getting 4 to 5 inch groups at 125 yds, ( thats the ranges limit) I don't think thats half bad for a blind old fart and a 60 year old gun, and 4 dollar a box ammo

Re: sks accuracy???
Due to the short length of the barrel I found you'll get the best groups with Iron sights at 100yd. After 100yds your groups will be all over the place.

Re: sks accuracy???
How do you even find a three year old thread to reply to?
Do these guys digging up these threads just use Google or something?

Re: sks accuracy???
I just sold a Yugo that at 350 yds I could hit a 12X12 inch steel plate any where from 7 to 8 rds out of 10 all day long and the other 2 or 3 were only inches off. Why I sold it was I`m building ARs, 223 and 308.

Re: sks accuracy???
Notwithstanding the limited accuracy of any rifle, the geometry alone makes 2 inch groups at 675 yards truly amazing. The cross hairs on my 4 power scope block out a 7/8 inch bullseye at 50 yards. This works out to 2 inches at 100 yards or about 13 inches at 675 yards. With a rifle that maintained the theoretical limit of absolute accuracy, it would still be necessary, in order to utilize it, to scrutinize 1/7th of the thickness of the cross hairs and this would make your eye-balls fall out making it impossible to repeat. Thus, such marksmanship is surely an exception and not the rule.
