Default Up Coming Events at LRGC

    Greetings Fellow Shooters,

I wanted to give you a brief snapshot of our upcoming events at LRGC and also get your thoughts on an idea I had for a new theme event.

March 29th Last Chance Match Registration opens 0900hrs March 10th.

April 26th Boomer/Bravo Champions Match Registration is by invitation only. There will be no public link posted. Guests are welcome to come and watch.

May 31st Annual Couples Match Registration link will open May 10th. This match is specifically geared to newer shooters and significant others. 1/2 shoot 1/2 social event.

We are considering a new them event and would like to get your input. What would you say to a Viet Nam era shoot in July honoring those who fought in that conflict? We will name the shoot Fire Base Ripcord after a famous battle that took place in July 1970. Shooting would be restricted to period specific firearms. AR's with no optics, M1A's, AK's, SKS's. Modern era AR's would be accepted but just no red dots or magnified optics. Of course period dress would be encouraged and prizes given out.

So what say you shooting community? Would this be a good or bad idea?

    Sounds like a GREAT idea!

I was very disappointed that we couldn't make the WWII shoot do to my work schedule, so this will make up for it by half.

It will probably take me till July to decide if I should shoot my M1-A or Colt SPI. The SPI has been patiently sitting in the back of the safe for years waiting to shoot something

This would be great. I know several people who would certainly be interested if it were a public event. They love to dress in their era-correct uniforms.

Your practical rifle matches usually require like 50 rounds of ammo? Is all of that in one big timed event? Would a 9mm carbine be able to join the party and have fun? If it is 50 in rapid succession, then I would need to get a few more magazines (I am planning on bartering for a hi point 9mm this weekend)

Our matches typically require 80 rounds of ammo. You will need at least three magazines. A 9mm is suitable in some of our matches however it would not be eligible for our Champion's Match should you qualify.

3 10 rounders or 3 30 rounders? Really hard to find a reliable hi pont mag over 10 rounds, but I heard it's a great target rifle and I would love to put it to the test in a match scenerio.

Champions match would be if I win the first round or if I win one of the regular contests and come back for another contest?

Basically if I win and come back for a champion match, then I will need to borrow an ar/ak rifle?
