    Default Colt Pony, interesting find

I picked up a Colt Pony at the Feb. Oaks GS. I wanted an extra mag, so I went to the "clip lady" a few rows over. She didn't have any Colt Pony/Mustang magazines, but she said that a Sig p238 magazine would work.

I keep a P238 on the nightstand along with a couple of extra mags for it. Finally remembered to take one downstairs and see if it would fit and at least feed the first round. It did. In fact, it seemed to feed easier than the Colt mag that the Pony came with. Was going to go to the range, but the itch in my nose turned into a truly rapid developing nasty cold. I guess the rest of the test will have to wait until next weekend. I'll let y'all know then.

^you should have asked me that a year ago

Mecgar mustang mags sell for $15! Fit like a glove in the sig. From what I understand sig bought the mustang/ pony design and improved upon it.

I may get a couple of those then. See all the things I learn?

The SIG is essentially a copy of the Colt. The magazines, and probably some other parts, are interchangeable.

I never knew the Sig .380 existed until someone started a .380 thread a few weeks back.

The Sig kept being suggested and when I finally took a look at it, I thought, "Well, no wonder everyone likes it - it looks nearly identical to a Colt."

I have a Pony. Are the Sig mags less expensive? I wouldn't think so, but never looked because I never knew to look. Now I do.

"Clip Lady"? guess that has a better ring than "Magazine Lady". My question is what happened to all the linguistic police on this forum? I expected the first response in this thread to be a rant!

The magazine lady sells old copies of Guns and Ammo. Was trying to avoid confusion.
