Bought my first pistol
Got a ruger 22/45 lite. Never owned a 22 and it's my first handgun. Owned an AR and shot plenty of pistols and now I have the fun of ammo hunting for it. Now what do I do with this pistol? W some research it looks like I'll be getting the mag bushing. Any other mods that are needing attention? Hope to suppress it one day but not now.

Check out rimfire central or rugerforum.net, I used to hang out there when .22 ammo was plentiful and cheap. They both had some really good info and technical advice on mods etc.

Re: Bought my first pistol
Congrats! 22 is a great round to plink and hunt with! Use Wikiarms or Gunbot to find ammo. I have a Single Six and a High Standard M101. No recoil, accurate and still the cheapest to shoot. Since the 22/45 was built to simulate the 1911, it is a good practice piece, too. Have a wonderful time with it!

I love my 22/45 MKIII and I sure like the feel of the lite!

Re: Bought my first pistol
I've been looking for a MKII 22/45 for a while now, don't like all the California compliant bullshit they put on the MKIII. Only one I've been able to find locally had the short 4" bull barrel on it and I just didn't like it. I want something longer, maybe even a target or competition model. They are sweet guns, you'll like it for sure. Until you have to break it down to clean it, lol.

Re: Bought my first pistol
Congrats. I have the gold version. You should definitely check out rimfirecentral. Those guys know their stuff. Things you need to do: Bushing, VQ accuracy kit, more mags, ultimate cliploader, ammo. I recommend getting new sights because the black ones can be hard to see sometimes. The Burris fast fire III looks nice or even just a fiber optic front sight. Then buy a suppressor.
