    Question How accurate are you?

How accurate are you at 25 and/or 50 yards with your pistol? Do you shoot this far? And what size groupings can you get?

Off bags or freehand? Slow fire or rapid?

I play around shooting clay pigeons at 30 yards a lot, but I haven't bagged the gun in years. I may have to try it again.

At 25 yards on a TQ-19 target, COM all day long.

At 7 yards three holes touching, but not every time.

    No benches or rests.

Slowfire and either bags or freehand, your choice.

the reason I ask is because I just put a scope on my beretta neos and went shooting yesterday. The groupings I got at 25 yards were okay by my standards (within 2-3 inches or so) but at 50 yards they were everywhere. I had a very hard time making any type of substanial grouping, i was just hitting everywhere in the 8 inch circle. I wasnt sure if this is just from my unfamiliarity with using a scope or if it is simply that hard to make a good grouping a 50 yards with a pistol (6 inch barrel)

i tried both freehand and bags

It could be the ammo. My neos shoots much better that that. I shoot the Remington HP's.

I just shot yesterday at 25 yards and although all of the shots would have been COM, there was no definitive grouping. I just can't pick an exact spot at that distance to aim at. I just aim at the red spot on my targets.

15 yards I can get really good groups.

with a revolver: either SA or DA, you dont want me shooting at you at all - whether you and/or I are moving or not. You will only die tired if you run.

with a semi: I could hit center mass standing still 18 out of 20 times. ..sometimes more, sometimes less.

Thats accurate enough for me and the soul collectors. lol

Outdoor NRA Conventional Pistol (Bullseye) is shot Slow Fire at 50 yards and Timed and Rapid Fire at 25 yards. With .22, centerfire and .45 caliber pistols. Start at the beginning and apply the basics including getting your natural point of aim and natural grip, it should improve.

If you're not sure of the basics, go to www.bullseyepistol.com look over the site and read the Army Marksmanship Unit's Manual on Pistol Marksmanship. Oh yeah, one other thing about the basics, they apply to all styles of shooting not just bullseye, that's why they're called basics.
