long guns do not fall under your LTCF, so you still need to follow state/federal transport laws

yes, in PA it is legal to carry (on foot) a loaded long gun open or concealed without an LTCF.

this is the case simply because there is no law against it.

i would expect some major hassling in most places if you go walking around with an AR or AK slung over your shoulder, though.

Could I walk downtown Harrisburg with my AK stock collapsed and slung over my shoulder? Granted I would never do that, but I thought it was a compelling question.
    legally, yes.

    in practical reality...

Also, something to note: If Eddy Rendell calls a "state of emergency" or if the feds call a state of emergency, it is illegal to have a firearm on or around you unless you are using it in self defense of yourself or property (even if you have a permit to carry).
no. one of the things an LTCF does is allow you to carry during declared states of emergency.

Heh... These statements are strikingly similar to many that I read here a few months ago when sidearm OC started to get more popular.

    IAMNE, You may be wrong.
I believe the law does state you cannot carry a long gun.

Legally, yeah I think you're allowed, but... I'd expect SWAT to show up real quick.

Can I walk the streets of downtown Harrisburg, including the state capital with my WASR slung on my shoulder and a magazine loaded?
Yes. There's no law against it.

Might there be adverse consequences? Yes.
