Default Krav Maga in Bucks County?

I want to get back into martial arts after a long lapse, assuming my problematic middle aged body (knee issues, shoulder issues) can handle it. I'd like to stick to a more "combatives" style than a traditional style (I've done plenty of the latter earlier in life).

I've never taken Krav Maga but on paper it sounds good. I live in/near Newtown, and can about equally get to:

    1. Bucks County Krav Maga (Warminster), or
    2. Some place in Huntingdon Valley; the facility name escapes me, but the instructor is Udi Sharabi.

I've never been to either place; don't know anything about any of the instructors. I'm sure I'll scope out both places, but...

has anyone trained at either place? any feedback?

Are there any other combatives schools near Newtown? I've looked online and seen some options, but who knows...

There is also Combat Fitness in Doylestown. I've been wanting to get into Krav Maga for a while now just haven't been able to yet. Sorry I can't be of more help.

    What are your goals?

If your goal is to learn only the Krav system disregard below.

If your goal is to learn self defense, the pros/cons and applications of various styles including Krav, you might want to consider training with us.

My lifelong friend runs the business. We do a mix of kenpo, krav, muay, you name it, with the purpose of identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the styles and applying them to real world situations (various SD scenarios - one guy, multiple guys, various angles, weapons, etc).

How do you feel about center city? I know Philly Gun Range (former Colossimo's) has Krav classes.

I used to live a 10 block walk away from there, but now it's way too far.

I do have the 3 KM places within acceptable driving distance of me...I just could use some vetting of these choices....or an alternative combatives school to consider. For example, I'm not up for BJJ since that kind of pounding and ligament strain is too much for me anymore. A style that's mostly basic combatives, with some takedowns, is ideal.

Get in touch with Shawn Rose. He holds classes on Sundays in a park in Allentown. Probably not so much right now because of the weather though.

Allentown is at least 80 minutes each way from me. But if he's clued in to the local schools, maybe he can advise what my best local options are.

Thumbs up Re: Krav Maga in Bucks County?

If you would like to learn Krav Maga in the Doylestown or Central Bucks County area, visit http://www.combatfitnessmartialarts.com or like our page on Facebook for the latest updates on news, events and seminars.

Our Krav Maga is taught progressively within its structured curriculum, however, the students are able to make it even highly effective by infusing Krav Maga with other disciplines of martial arts that our school offers.

My son is an avid student at Atlantic Krav Maga on Jackson Road in Warminster. Kevin Mack, the owner is terrific. We have been going there for about three years now, and it's a great place.

    It can get rather intense.
