    Default Place to do transfer?

I'm considering making my first online purchase to take advantage of a good deal I found on Classic Firearm and was a bit shocked to hear a local shop quote me over $60 for a transfer. I've never done this before so I had no idea it was that expensive to do.

Would anyone happen to know an FFL that might do it cheaper? My whole point of buying online was to save money, and after the transfer I'm really not at that price.

    Thanks!

Go on gunbroker.com, and check their FFL list. Their fees are usually listed. I use Walker Precision in Erie. He's a class III FFFL, charges 20 bucks.

The first bit of advice is useful. Going on gunbroker's ffl section will give you many LOCAL places to do transfer. As for the bump for Walker, that would be useful if they weren't a SIX HOUR DRIVE AWAY! LOL!

Question Re: Place to do transfer?

As a fellow Levittowner, can I ask what shop quoted you $60 on the transfer?

Since there is really only one shop in Levittown, I'd say it's a safe bet that it was Mikes. For transfers, I've been using Mark at modern munitions in penndel. It's a new shop, but only $25 for a transfer. He's still working on the shop, so it's mostly by appointment.

I recently paid $25 for a transfer at King Shooters in King of Prussia. That's probably a little too far for you, but I met a seller there and it was a good experience.
    ...and they have a plan...
