    Default Newbie questions

So I finally moved to pa and finally got my pa ccw …

is there a place in northampton/monroe county that offers concealed carry training?

I have plenty of shooting experience, that is range time, but I would like some training on drawing from holster, force on force, moving and shooting. Not to mention advantages and disadvantages of different holster types and positions

Do search for Heritage in Easton. They have classes. Also pocono pistol range in stroudsburg has tacticle classes and such.

You can help yourself on the draw thing at home with an empty pistol. I would suggest you don't have live ammo in the same room while doing it. You may want to invest in some snap caps if required for you type of pistol. With snap caps you can drill on draw and fire. As I reload I can make dummy loads that weigh nearly as much as the real thing. the only difference is a few grains of powder and what is expended when the primer fires.
An empty gun doesn't have the same balance as a loaded one.

LaserLyte makes a laser "bullet" for dry fire practice. A red laser dot appears to show where your round would strike. They're pricey ($80-100), but I felt it was well worth the expense...a lot cheaper then throwing lead down the range and I can use it any time - not just when the range is open. I use mine to practice my draw along with a timer app on my cell phone.
