Default Got my Valor Bobtail back from Robar... With pics!

The vbob was finally returned to me from Robar after about a two month wait. The NP3 finish is absolutely fantastic. Everything feels much slicker now, and supposedly it will never rust. Unfortunately, the front night sight was dead when it arrived. I contacted Robar and let them know, and they're taking care of it with no questions asked. Stellar customer service. I highly recommend them.

    Now for a few pics!

I'm very pleased with it. I'll be sending it back Monday. I can't wait to get it back and fire it up.

Looks great. How did they tell you for a turn around time regarding the front sight? I also hope they sent you a paid FedEx or UPS label. Do you have a before picture?

Thanks! I'm not sure what the turn around will be this time. He said they'll have to order the front sight, then fit it and fire it. He kinda hinted at a couple weeks total. They are paying for everything, so I have no complaint about the customer service. I didn't even have to ask.

I do have some pictures that I took when I first got it. It was fairly worn, but not overly so. My main problem was rust.

It rusted under the grip panels, on the frame by the slide stop hole, in the front/backstrap checkering, and on the top and side of the slide. It was very minor, granted, but I hate rust. I don't think it has anything to do with their finish, as all of the higher end 1911 manufacturers use the same grade of stainless steel. I guess that I (and probably you too) have some badass sweat.

I've got a little over four bills in the finish.

Sweating off firearms finishes...sounds like we might be distant relatives rofl

That finish looks outstanding Robar's reputation is well earned.

And in spite of the SHOT show they got it back to you. Not on time or on target, but they got her back to you. And again it looks beautiful.

Have you considered a different type of grips?
    gotta love her ;)

It's ridiculous lol I swear I could rust wood sometimes. Midas had the gold touch, whereas I have the Touch That Ruins All Things Metallic and Nice.

You, Sir, have read my mind. I've spent the last few hours looking at different grips. I have a Baer and a Colt as well, that have the factory wood panels on them. They just doesn't feel as good in my hand as the Vbob does. The slim grips work really well for me, for in addition to the Touch of Metallic Death, I was cursed with the hands of a midget. They're good for Pringles cans, and that's about it. I would like a different look than the current grips, though, as they've been on it forever. Do you have any suggestions?

As you just learned, I avoid sending a weapon back to a manufacturer from November thru January. The holidays and Shot show screw everything up.

The gun look marvelous............... good luck with it.
    George,
So many guns, so little money.
