Interesting Thing I Was Asked in the Emergency Room
So, I was in the ER most of the day yesterday due to a failed discectomy back surgery (looks like I have to have a bulging disc repaired again) and one of the questions I was asked by the nurse was if I had any thoughts of harming myself. You could tell she was uncomfortable asking me and of course I said no (because I don't), however, I was not asked that in Dec when I had the first surgery. Just found it very interesting and wasn't sure if it was because of new regs that kicked-in in January.

Re: Interesting Thing I Was Asked in the Emergency Room
It seems like there have been a few questions like that nurses have been asking for a pretty long time. Not everywhere but even before Obama.
It may started with Hillary Care back when Billy Bob was the Prez.

I'd tell her only my penis. I like to beat it and smack it around some.

CAREFUL with your answers. They could 302 you and you'd lose your 'privileges' forever.
seems like a trick question to me. even if you said 'maybe'. that could be an affirmative.

Thats's a standard question that's asked of all patients. They have been asking that question for years at least at the Hospital I work at.

Re: Interesting Thing I Was Asked in the Emergency Room
When they ask me the one about "Do you feel safe at home?" I always say "my wife beats me!" If she is there, I flinch every time she moves or speaks. It's a hoot! She weighs about 180 pounds LESS than me! She's this little tiny, beautiful creation of God, and I am blessed to have her. So, I try to keep her smiling anyway I can. She likes my jokes.
the truth is, sometimes she can 'look at' me and I tremble in fear of what she is capable of. She's a good woman!

Re: Interesting Thing I Was Asked in the Emergency Room
When we were in the hospital for our second child's birth a nurse asked my wife and me (separately) whether we were ever hit or hurt by anyone in our home.
I told her that our two-year old hit me frequently.I am not a lawyer. Nothing I say or write is legal advice.

Re: Interesting Thing I Was Asked in the Emergency Room
During my wife's pregnancies she was paranoid and we were at the hospital for braxton hicks a few times before the babies were born. It was so funny because every time that we would go, one of their questions was always to ask my wife if she had "problems" at home or if she felt "safe". Never me. They would always get halfway through the question, give me a glancing look, then almost whisper to here as if I wasn't there and couldn't here. Lol. I know it's because they think she might be afraid to say something, but then just ask when I am not in the room dummies.
