    Default LCP Cracked Frame

This is what happened to my 4 year old LCP during the last range trip. The gun has approximate 750 rounds through it. Also the pin that is holding the sub-frame to the frame near where the crack is was replaced about a year after I got the firearm.

Ruger is fixing it. I had to pay shipping one way with a label they sold for $30. It would have been much more expensive for me to go to FedEx to ship myself. They mentioned that for firearms 3 years or younger they ship both ways.

That's from all the WARNING: READ MANUAL shit stamped on the side.
Doesn't happen to the original LCP aka the KelTek.

As I understand handguns cannot be shipped via ground if your not a FFL. $30 from them was a good price vs paying UPS/FedEx directly to ship Air. or paying an FFL to ship ground as they usually charge a fee plus shipping, although that can still be better than shipping air yourself. I'm sure they have a corporate account and get better rates because of the volume they ship.

WWB and Wolf mostly, some Remington thrown in with possibly some others. Virtually all range type ammo except for about 50 rounds of Remington Golden Sabre. All factory loaded ammo. No +P or +P+.

Wolf was being fired when the frame broke, but I don't see how that could have mattered.

One of the indoor ranges I attend (pistol fire only) specifically prohibits Wolf and other steel eastern bloc ammo. Owner is a trained armorer, says he's had it with broken guns, doesn't want the liability. Theory being, manufacturing tolerances are all over the place.

As far as I can tell just the polymer. I did not take the sub-frame out. I figured it's Rugers job to do that.

My buddy bought a lcp when they first came out. he had less then 100 rounds threw it when the frame slip rite at the seem. It was one of those things you wouldn't believe unless you seen it things.he was shooting Winchester white box. He had it replace and sold it. That's the reason I never bought one. I lost all faith in any plastic gun ruger will ever put out after that.
