Good PA Gun Rental for Southern New Yorker?
Hi . I am a resident of Broome County Ny which borders the state of PA. Lately I've been thinking of making several Firearm purchases but I would really like the chance to shoot the guns I am considering purchasing before I commit to anything. Being an NY'er my options are extremely limited. I do not know anyone who owns the guns I am considering, and there are literally zero ranges/stores around here that do gun rental, probably for legal/liability reasons... this is Ny afer all .
My question is: does anyone know of a good gun rental place, ideally within 2 hours of me? Something in the Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Allentown areas perhaps? If I have to I'll drive to the Philly area, as some Google searches turn up gun rentals around Philly, but I'd prefer a shorter drive as this would be a day trip.
The guns I'd like to try out are:
Glock 19 - Compact 9mm
Glock 26 - Baby 9mm
Springfield XDs 9mm 3.3"
Springfield XDs 9mm 4" (Yep, I know no one has these yet)
S&W M&P Shield 9mm
S&W M&P9
Thanks for any feedback you guys can provide.

Re: Good PA Gun Rental for Southern New Yorker?
Renting is not a problem so long as the firearm stays within the complex. I don't think a FFL is needed to merely "rent" guns for use at a range because no transfer is being made.
Even though the OP is a NY resident, once outside of NY he wouldn't need a NY permit to touch a handgun like he would if he were in NY.
However, if he is going to eventually own one he will need a NY permit. Without his NY permit he cannot touch a handgun at all, let alone buy or keep one within his home.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Many public ranges will not rent guns to someone alone, unless they have their own guns. So you may want to bring someone or call and ask first. Not too long ago, someone committed suicide at the HG range, so they might be more stringent with renting.
