A day on the range
Monday, Stockertown.
Dressed for the weather, foot heaters/chemical=nice Wallyworld type=cheap.
Shot smoke pole TC Hawkens 50cal. First X with bore butter.
At first could not squeeze the yellow stuff out of tube? Frozen. Place in inside pocket for warm up/with hand warmer chemical heater.
Used what is left of Poly Patches(green) round ball 490. 50 yards 90 gr FF bp.
Coat bottom of patch with bore butter. With 1 patch clean up after each shot was able to shoot 14 rounds. Not bad, I guess bore butter does work.
Had 6 rounds touching each other. move sight, 4 rounds cut same hole.
All but 1 in the black. That was the last shot.
This rifle has always shot good with Poly Patches. Shame they took them off the market.
Great day shooting
Now, try to buy round ball, Need ff bp. Looks like a trip to Dixons after this round of snow.NRA Life Member 03/2005
