Red face Tried something different today.

We went over to Heritage Guild this morning for our weekly shoot. I had dropped off my Ruger Mark III last week for a thorough cleaning. I also asked them to install the lovely wooden grips that my hubby gave me for Christmas. Today I rented a Ruger SR22. I found the fit and finish to be first rate, it was very lightweight, and fit my hand comfortably. Much to my surprise, there was very little recoil. I was very impressed with it. I'll be keeping my Mark III but hope to buy an SR22 maybe in another year or so.

The wooden grips look great on the Mark III and it's now much more comfortable to hold. The original plastic grips felt too much like sandpaper.

Nothing finer than a nice morning on the range.

    Couldn't agree more

Funny thing is, I started with an SR22 and am currently buying a Mark III. I'm hoping the Mark will be significantly more accurate than my particular SR22.

I'm glad you like the grips. Out if curiosity what were you charged for the cleaning and install?

I don't know about that. Certainly makes the top 10 list though.

I bought my wife an SR22 as a gift last Christmas. She absolutely loves the gun. One of the things she loves about it is the near total absence of recoil.

You don't want to strip down the Mark III on your own?? I love that gun, but the engineer that designed it wasn't thinking properly. I fully understand why you paid someone to do it.

I have both the sr22 and mIII. My wife loves shooting the sr22, as do I. Mine is pretty accurate to 25 yards.

I have a gun I'd pay them to clean if they would let me watch

Check out--majesticarms.com--, get the kit and then clean the gun yourself and save the $$.

    People actually clean MK series?
Boresnake is all they need short of 10k rounds through. Might pick at the extractor or use a qtip on the feed ramp then.
