I couldn't believe what I was seeing on the gun I just spent nearly a thousand dollars on. I contacted Bill to see if he would do anything to help and he started out seeming like he would help then decided he would not. I contacted Sig Sauer and they could not do a model exchange with me but sounded like they could have for me through Bill. I can't begin to explain how upsetting it is to spend that much hard earned money and Not get what you thought you'd paid a bundle for. Bill if you decide you would like to make this right there are still no rounds through the gun and you have my number on the background check.

It would appear from just one Google Foo search that a file would be the answer. Even more checking and you might be able to find a replacement part. Now on a side not I never heard of Bills gun shop so I don't know him. This problem would appear to be yours, not Bills!

While the whole concept of California compliant firearms is BS but what functionality is compromised? I checked the summary of California Firearms Laws (https://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/a...f/cfl2016.pdf?) and it states "passed safety and functionality tests". I have to believe a Sig, any Sig, passes those tests without any modification. Is the primary difference a 10 round or less round magazine? If so, use the ones that came with the gun as range mags and buy some normal mags for carry and enjoy the gun.

One other thing: it is easy to get excited at a gun show, all that eye candy. Unless it's a grail gun that must be had at any cost, walk away for a few minutes and think about it, clear your head. Then come back with a cold, critical eye before buying. Caveat Emptor. You were able to examine the gun before purchase, it likely came with a Sig box that very likely has labels with the CA Compliancy noted.

So Jcent makes a profile and within 3 minutes makes 3 posts on 3 threads all about the same deal and gun shop... Maybe Jcent needs to look in a mirror to see the real problem

I'm no even sure I understand the problem? Does the gun have a feature that the complainant didn't know about?

Three "Bill's Gun Shop" threads in "Shops" forum have been merged into one.

Duplicate posts by forum members within this combined thread have been deleted.

Regarding the complaint "JCent" posted, the pistol he purchased is CA state compliant, and has a couple extra features, most notably and the most visually obvious is the Loaded Chamber Indicator:

"JCent" should have seen that feature while handling the pistol prior to purchase. Hell, Stevie Wonder could see that feature. IMO, JCent got home and did his Interwebz homework after the fact and decided he didn't want what he purchased, because he didn't know what he purchased.

It sounds like someone did not do the proper research before gun shopping. Bill is an old Korean war navy vet who I've dealt with for the past few years with zero issues. Once a gun is sold as a new gun it can never be sold again no one takes returns on new firearms in my experience. It's like me going to a new car dealer buying a car and taking it home then deciding I don't like the options. Then calling Ford and asking them to exchange it.
