    Default So what is the value of this 1911

    Dan Wesson 45 match

    i know very little about these (1911s) but a guy is looking to get $1000

    gun needed cleaning but seemed to be in pretty good shape

    Prolly the closest model to that is a Pointman, and it's close to $1500. The Match is probably worth a grand, but only if you want all the forgings that come with it. I won't be my life on it, but I think the frame on the match is investment cast stainless, not forged. I could be wrong, but a $1000 used DW should be fully forged with forged internals. It is what separates that gun from a fully forged 1911 with MIM parts that's $700. My take on that, as well, is if it isn't a combat or comp gun, you hardly need everything forged. It is a want thing, and that's cool, too.

    I wanted a new street bike, but didn't need one. it is sitting in my garage, now.
