    Default Trigger Pin

Today I picked up what appears to be a barely used Glock 27 3rd gen that was made in summer 2012 and when I was inspecting it at the shop I noticed about half of the trigger pin was broken off and missing from the right side of the pistol.

I inspected the locking block and frame area around the pin hole and did not notice any damage or really any wear at all. I managed to get a little more off the price, and I will be ordering a new trigger pin soon. I think this is strange considering the gun looks barely used at all. I have always heard that the trigger pin is a low stress part and doesn't absorb much recoil force. It broke off perfectly even on the thinner part.

Has anybody ever heard of this or had this happen on your Glock?

And what would cause it to happen?

    Appreciate any input, thanks

I suspect a youtube gunsmith banging on it with a hammer.

The slide stop lever slips into the slot on the trigger pin and usually requires aligning the pin with the stop hole to remove. Some people don't know this and use the brute force method which can break parts.

Goes to show how well the shop looks at their guns. A $2.50 pin could have more than paid for itself.
