Default Anyone plan on getting a Glock 42?

Was gonna get a G26 to use as my EDC but with the announcement of the 42 I might have to bite on that for the wife first and continue carrying my 19 until I save up. My wife up doesn't like shooting my 19 so I think the 42 would be a good starting point for her and ateast have a better defensive round then a .22

I would buy the G26. The backstraps are replaceable on the Gen4 G26 so you could put on the small backstrap and let your wife sees how she like it. The G26 is a little fatty but it has been proven reliable and holds 10+1 of 9mm which is sure as hell better than 6+1 .380 or 6+1 9mm. The GAP floorplates from Concealable Control really help to get a better grip on the baby Glocks and help when drawing from the holster. I have used the GAP plates on my G33 for years.

Better off waiting to see if their are any issues with the first run of G42.

I had considered getting one, I already have a sw shield9 I carry all the time, I found a nice 26 g3 yesterday at the shop and picked it up. Personally I like the 3 better than the 4

No, bought a CM9 to fill the roll for easy concealment, the G42 being a .380 just don't do it.

My G19 is a lot easier to shoot than my Colt Pony .380.
Both in handling and felt recoil.

I hope she doesn't think the overall, physical size of the handgun alone makes it more, or less "scary" to shoot. If so, she needs more info so she can make an educated decision.
