I think it looks awesome with those grips. Granted its a bit more money over the standard model for just the grips, sights, and half lug barrel, but I just like it.

Re: GP100 Match Champion
From Ruger, "The Ruger® GP100® Match Champion™ was designed with the competitor in mind"... it seems that if it really is match gun with competition in mind it would have adjustable sights. Different loads have different points of aim.
Otherwise I like it, I like the "Security Six-ish" look.Tact is just not saying true stuff. I'll pass.

Re: GP100 Match Champion
But see guys there's competition and there's competition. I'd bet this gun was built as an opposing number to the S&W 686 SSR.
IDPA rules require a 6 shot revolver with 4" barrel for both of the revolver classes. Now if Ruger got real smart they'd make this thing so it can use either speedloaders and competitive in Standard Service Revolver using .38 Spec. power level ammo or moonclips in Enhanced Service Revolver using .357Magnum power level ammo. All for the price of one gun.
BTW with the generous sized zero down areas of IDPA targets and the maximum distance of 35 yards for a target, adjustable sights aren't as important as easily visible sights.

Grips look nice. I think Ruger might also be marketing this for self-defense.

Re: GP100 Match Champion
I checked one out at my LGS last week. The grips are Hogue and feel good.
I have to say that it really is a natural pointer.
The one I want to see is the GP100 Talon exclusive Wiley (I believe that's the name). Completely bead blasted finish instead of the brushed finish on the Match Champion.USN ~ Retired

^^^I believe it's the Wiley Clapp GP100 by Talo.
I wish Ruger would take the billboards off the sides. I may have to try those grips on my lowly "regular" GP100....I don't watch shark week. Sharks watch FLICK week.
