    Default Hunting in MONTCO

Hi guys Im pretty new to hunting on my own so I am not good with regulations as far as where I am allowed to hunt. I live in Collegeville and I know Evansburg is legal to hunt but was wondering about Central Perkiomen Park that runs along the perkiomen creek. It is marked in green on google maps. Is anything marked in green on google maps legal to hunt? Sorry for my ignorance if this sounds dumb but I used to hunt with groups so I never had to worry about these things.

Also what about hunting with Rifles in Montco? I have a .303 Enfield and a 30-30 Marlin

Edited because I posted incorrect information in regards to buckshot.

The rifle restriction is not about private vs. public land. It is in place because of the density of the population. Even if you have a decent sized tract of land, a rifle bullet travels quite far.

In Montco right now, you can only hunt antlerless with a shotgun. You can, however, hunt antlered or antlerless with bow/crossbow or flintlock. See attached page from the digest for seasons.

Regarding where you can hunt, I don't think you can just hunt anywhere that is green on Google maps. Many township parks have no hunting rules and many townships have discharge prohibitions (though they are likely illegal, they still are on the books and will cost you some time and money to fight.) You would need to check with the townships or the specific parks to determine the legality of hunting in them. In my experience, most township parks in Montco have hunting and discharge prohibitions.

Check out the page from the digest that is attached for this info regarding weapons in special regs areas.
    Note that is for deer.
