Liberty Ammunition
So, is this shit the real deal, or snake oil? CNC machined copper bullets, about 2000FPS for .40, for example.
It's about twice the price of the HST that I buy, but I grabbed 4 boxes to try out, based on the recommendations of some friends at work.
Just looking to see if anyone has any experiences with it.

Re: Liberty Ammunition
You may as well use a rifle. Seems a little extreme for handgun.

Re: Liberty Ammunition
The 2000 fps is based on the 50 grain projectile used. This is an increase of approximately 60% in the muzzle velocity, while decreasing the bullet weight to less than half of the normal 115 grain.
As far as cost, $20 per box is not outrageous for protection rounds.
I have heard from one person I know of the 40 S&W going through a 4 x 4 when shot from a 7 ft distance.

I've always considered light bullet/high velocity to be a sucker's bet for pistols. You want penetration, not magical energy dump.

Re: Liberty Ammunition
Snake oil IMO. Over the years quite a few companies have come out with these magical light bullets pushed fast and try to market them as being "safe" or good for HD.(not so much penetration after going through drywall) A round that is friendly on drywall is not going to be even close to optimal for 2 legged bastards. Most people don't know any better and buy it because, wow gee whiz it goes 2000 fps so it must be a magical creature.
Use a round that is used by a large number of LE agencies and has reports of real world performance. Good luck trying to find any real world results from PDs using these magical lazer beams. Stick with the HST, it works and has proof that it works.Last edited by dkf; January 10th, 2014 at 09:00 PM.
