Default K31 - Work in Progress

First let me say this. I AM NOT GOING TO PERMANENTLY ALTER MY RIFLE AT ALL. It is a piece of history and I refuse to ruin that.
Also, HUGE thanks to ProudCR who hooked me up with the best looking and smoothest K31 I have ever seen/handled.

    For the history guys:
The Troop Tag which said this:
    Bosshard, Jules
    Mw.Kp.IV/5
    PF'A'FFJKON SZ
    im Huibli

    Translates to this:
    Jules Bosshard (best name...ever)
    Mortar Company 4/Battalion 5
    (Gibrish)
    (Gibrish)
    That being said...

I cannot believe (ok.. yes I can) how amazingly well this rifle cleaned up. Also, the gun looks like it has never been fired... ever. The bore looks like a polished mirror and the lands and grooves are amazingly sharp. I can hardly wait to shoot it tomorrow at French Creek.

My plans for this rifle are as follows:
Throw a SW scope mount in place of the rear sight. After that, throw a scout scope on it and turn it into my deer rifle.

I've had a K-31 for several years and it is a very accurate rifle. I would not hesitate to take it deer hunting. The only issue is the "safety" which is not exactly easy to take off should deer pop out in front of you.

I'm jealous, there was no name under my buttplate.

still a kick ass shooter though !

I got the correct sling for it, but I am not sure if i have it on right. Anyone know how and/or have a pic of how it should go?

Well this has really been a work in progress indeed, but I am finally done with my scout project. Got my S&K scope mount in the mail yesterday and my crappy NCstar 4x LER scope (I just needed something cheap for 200 yards or less shooting) and some 1" Burris Rings (which are really nice for the price).

Here is my K31 (JULES BOSSHARD EDITION) with the scope setup (please excuse the cellphone pic)

    And bonus "recoil pad" picture:
