    Default $225 budget 22 rifle

    Hey guys,
Shopping for a 22 rifle for hunting so no semi's.

Got a budget of $225 for the rifle. I can get at wholesale so that helps a bit.

Initially started looking for a tube feed but the only one found is the Marlin XT-22TR, model 70821, wholesales at $179. Admittedly not a bad choice.

But if I go clip fed several of the Savages look good as well.

Anyone have some thoughts or feedback on some nice choices in the price range?

I want to know where you found a tube fed XT. Been my unicorn for a while.
Love my MKII. Mine is an FV-SR so not the best for woods walking but the action is great.

Priced it out on a distributor list, was either Shirk's or Jerry's, forget which. Didn't check stock just price in flyer.

i have a suppresed ruger american rimfire.

10 shot rotary mag like the 10/22.

when i got to the range, i can hit dum-dum lolly pops at 50 yds with a 90% hit rate when i do my part.

that is scoped and off a bench rest though.

it has a decent trigger. actually, way better than the x-mark on my remington 308.

I paid $270 for my Henry lever 22 which is tube feed. Fun shooter, but I don't know what it would be wholesale.

Like in the above post, Ruger American in 22lr seems to be a solid rifle. I have seen them, but don't own one...although my old man is thinking about one.

Get this one. Best $225 spent. Extra mag. Fast shipping. I am a very happy customer.

Yup, almost bought one on black Friday there when they were 20% off.
    It was mag fed though.
I want a tube fed. Can't find anywhere.

A MKII G would be my hunting choice of a MKII.
If they have a tube XT available, buy two. Sell me the other one.

Wally World down here has a nice Marlin Mod 60 in stainless with a walnut laminate stock for $220...that'd be my vote. Classic Marlin Mod 60 with some style. Been hunting for a blue'd mod 60 for a while or a tube fed marlin 22 mag.
