Used Taurus Model 22 and Beretta Bobcat question

Hello,

A friend of mine wants to get rid of a Taurus and a Beretta for 150 (plus the transfer fee)...what should I be in the lookout when inspecting the two pistols?

I am going to ask for a "loan" so that I can take them to the range and see how they perform.

I have owned both. I didn't find either to be a reliable gun, although the Beretta was better. I know of others who have them and really like them, but I would not buy either one.
