    Smile Transition from 9mm to 40 s&w

Had opportunity to inherit 40 S&W ammo actually 3,000 rounds plus or minus 3.I have not really ever owned a lot of 40s and my option to buy one is here,Shooter for the range mostly as I ccw S&W Shield 9mm or my Glock 26.Recommendations you may have for me,I have been giving thought to S&W SD ? Glock 23,22, or what would you consider to be a close to target shooting handgun,T Y in advance,as always I know I can depend on many veiws, again TY. ( My neighbor saw this post and called me up pronto,Sold me his S&W SD 40 for $225,Took the deal as this is going to be a range shooter,TY )

You might want to look at a G23. They're small enough to conceal easily, but still large enough to shoot comfortably. I like mine.

Oops! I missed the last sentence. I see you already have it covered.

My g22 should like a dream. I also had a hk usp. 40 that was my first .40 gun.

I'm actually looking to snag a shield in .40 sometime soon..

I missed the last sentence as well!

You have been wrapped in good karma since that selfless act you did not long ago.
    Government 99 and 44/100 % pure bullshit.

If you can find one, I would suggest the High Power version in 0.40. Fully supported chamber which is a very nice thing to have for a high pressure cartridge such as the 0.40. Another, if you can find one is the German version of the Walther P99. Either of these are accurate and easily controllable. Dave_n

Glock 23 is nice and has the same frame size as the 19 and 32 so if you own any of those you can save some money on holsters. Personally I prefer a little more weight and am a sig freak so one of my primary favorites is the sig 229 in .40. If I'm out an about in the summer chances are that's what I have on me.

Hey Marine I have a Springfield XD 40 and love it. If you want to part with any 40 ammo let me know. Thanks!

My first handgun was a G23 gen3, and it's still in my carry rotation. I have put over 3k rounds through it with no issues. I bought a G22 gen4 two years ago as a duty gun and also love it. I have a TLR-1s light on it, along with the Glock beavertail. I've also used the G22 to shoot USPSA matches. No complaints, both are great guns and the .40 is a great round.

I had a HK P2000sk in .40 for awhile too, but sold it due to replacing it as a summer carry with a XDS.

Even though I picked up my neighbors Sigma 40 for $225,I am giving strong support to the Glock 23,or 22,but will still keep the Sigma,I find the caliber is not as un-pleaseat to shoot as I had thought,Just dont like useing the re-loads my Brother in law gave me,lol. T Y for all great info. MDT

Fired a Sig 226 at an indoor range (guy one lane over offered to let me try it). SWEET! Then I went to retrieve the brass and discovered it wasn't a 9MM. Not knowing what model or caliber it was, I assumed it was a 9MM...
that's the difference between steel and polymers.

The G23 is a .40, and 9mm and .357 Sig barrels are available for it. A real nice option.
