LOOKIN" TOUGH! Sweet ass set up tom. I too have a question about the scope it kinda looks like a night force but im not sure. What is the power/objective on your scope? What kind of brass are you gonna use? Im very interested in the reloading batch you can find to work. Also are you going to try the large rifle as well as the mag primers? It will be nice to find out if they really do make a difference, especially since you have a 'Real Gun' to test the theory. What powder are you planning on using? If i had it to do over again i would have got a can of the vihtavuori (probably N160-165). My pops, who does weapon testing for the gov't, recently had a test for the .308 and all they test was concerned about was muzzle velocity variance. The vihtavuori kicked the shit out of all the others, i think it was + or - 8fps was its max. The worse was the reloader (RL15 i think it was).

Sadly the rifle won't be ready today, I forgot that today is Veteran's day. So the mail wasn't delievered, so I'll get the base tomorrow and have it all fired and zeroed in.

Lol, the scope is definately not a Nightforce; I wish it was. To be quite honest with you, with Christmas time coming up, reloading supplies, rifle, trying to get some lowers, etc; I don't have the money for a Nightforce and won't for a while, lol. It is actually a Millett LRS 1, if you do a search for Millett LRS 1, there's a seperate thread in optics about it. It has a 56mm objective, 140 moa of travel, locking tactical turrents with has marks, and a Gen II Mil-dot reticle. I'm going to be using Winchester brass, it's quite consistent and usually gets quite a few more reloadings out of it than some of the custom brass. In fact, alot of makers don't even make brass high end brass, like Hornday, Lapua, etc; or it's sold out with months back order. So I'm gonna see what kind of luck I have with the Winchester brass. I will be experimenting with Large Rifle and Magnum primers. I have purchased some IMR 4831, H4831, H4350, and RL22, I'm going to be experimenting with all of them. I've heard good things aboutVihtavuori, but I've also heard that it can be quite temperature sensitive if I remember correctly, so I decided to try some others to begin with.

Everything is going well, although I'm fixing to go nuts about getting it finished too. I got back from my hunting trip to find out that my parts STILL weren't in from midway. They finally got here at the first of this week; which was about 2 weeks AFTER they were supposed to get here. My buddy that is helping me with the project went out of town for Thanksgiving, so we couldn't finish it this week. We should be done with it this next week and getting her broke in. I'll have photos up the day I get them, lol.

Some of you guys were curious about the scope, so I did an update there with some "through the scope pics". It's not mounted yet because the gunsmith has been gone, but I wanted to put up something for those who are keeping an eye on the thread.
