I'm with you, my favorite season next to archery. I get a doe tag every year just for flintlock. This is my daughters first year hunting and she doesn't want to shoot the flintlock because of the flash pan, lol. She did say she would drive for me though, never had my own dedicated driver. I'm sitting here now writing down all the small spots I can think of that I can have her push to me without being too far away. I'm hoping if I get lucky and bag one it might give her a little more push to try it. I have a spot where it's almost guaranteed that she will kick out some deer but they have two escape routes and I can't cover them both.

good ole' hunting ....hang fire or flint to short, just keep cocking it till it goes off and hopefully the deer is still figuring out what you are doing

Have to work until 7am on Thursday, but I'll be home, changed and heading out to the woods by 8am!

Say a small buck dogging a doe last night, so maybe the second rut might come into play.

Will be out there Thursday - Friday at least. Love to get out flinting even though I've done real well this year through archery and rifle. Still got a tag saved for flintlock though!

Went to the range today and took a dozen or so shots, feeling pretty confident. My hand hurts from loading it, but I'll deal.
