    Default Saiga buttstock for conversion?

Planning on converting my new Saiga 132 and browsing the options. I like the hogue pistol grip, but they don't make an original style buttstock.

I'm looking for something more 'solid' feeling that the stock hollow plastic buttstock. Considering k-var (model #AK-020BUSW) and a few others but looking for some opinions. For example, is this model hollow too? Are there other good options around that price point ~$50? Ace makes a good looking skeleton around $80, but that's a little expensive.

Don't need a folder or a skeleton, although would consider if I found a good price on a great stock. Original style seems fine. People seem to think Tapco is a little flimsy. But I'll take any recommendations.

    Any and all suggestions welcome.

I always liked the ace skeleton stocks but they are kind of on the expensive side. They are made rock solid. I ended up put one on my saiga 12 and love it. I also put a hogue grip on. Sorry for the crappy pic.

I have a "standard AK " Tapco rear on my one S-12, it stands up to 3" buck just fine. So as far as "flimsy", I haven't seen it.

On the other S-12 I went with the folding ACE. Locks up solid and with the 1" rubber as opposed to the 1/2" it fits me perfectly. While it was/is one of the pricey options that are out there I don't think you can get a more sturdy folding stock that is easy to install.

I've also used the K-VAR standard AK buttstock and it did the job, looked better than the TAPCO but realistically was the same functionality. As for the model you have listed I think that one is hollow but honestly its been so long that I could be remembering wrong.

If you are worried about "hollow" feeling you can always spray foam the inside. Its kinda messy but then it doesn't sound hollow.

i have a couple of synthetic Arsenal buttstocks for my Saiga and they are excellent. milspec drop tested and have a trap door for a cleaning kit and a steel buttplate. you can order them online. go with NATO length.
