Florida Non-Resident Permit
Since my parents have a beach house in Delaware, and I am about 15 minutes from Wilmington and often go there to shop or grab something to eat I was looking at getting a florida non-resident permit. I had a few questions which are listed below.
How many of you have a florida non-resident permit? Where did you go to get training and how much did it run you to do so? If it helps I am located in West Chester and was looking for something rather local. I know Targetmaster offers courses which are 100 bucks for each of the 3 classes they offer? What classes are needed to qualify for the Florida permit?
Thanks

Re: Florida Non-Resident Permit
FYI: a forum search would produce many results.
I have a FLA non-res permit. I got it several years ago when you had to scurry around yourself for all the ingredients. Nowadays, a lot of ranges have "everything you need all in one day" events. Also, nowadays you can get the Utah permit a lot easier than before, which is cheaper and functionally equivalent. Your choice.

Re: Florida Non-Resident Permit
The link that dgg9 gives you is to an instructor whose one-day process does give you everything you need for a FL non-resident permit. I wouldn't, however, tell you to do anything other than use that particular individual for this purpose. Last I knew, they were operating out of Classic Pistol in Southampton on an irregular basis.

Re: Florida Non-Resident Permit
Everything you need is on link I listed below. Florida will mail you an application (free) and you:
1)fill it out
2)Get your fingerprints
3)Show some sort of proof that you had some sort of training.
4) Mail it down there with a check
You should have It in a week or 2.
I just go mine a couple of weeks ago. Very simple. I'm not sure where you can go to get your finger prints in PA. I happened to be down in FL. visiting my grandfather and had my prints taken at the Sheriff's office in Florida.

Re: Florida Non-Resident Permit
We are having a Utah CCW class in Port Penn, DE June 7th. Not sure which covers more states but it's one of the better ones.

Pm Wynder if you want to come. Don't think the class is full yet.

Re: Florida Non-Resident Permit
The application is the same for residence and non-residence. It takes about 30-45 days if everything checks out.

Re: Florida Non-Resident Permit
I got mine about a year ago. I was traveling to Texas and PA didn’t have reciprocity with Arkansas at the time. FL also has reciprocity with Mississippi and Louisiana, so I did a little detour on the way back.
I believe Utah is less expensive initially and also renewal. It takes about the same time, but you need to go to a Utah certified instructor, where Florida takes a hunter safety course certificate or NRA certificate as proof of training._____________________________________________
