Bald Eagle sighting near Stroudsburg
Yesterday, I was behind our shop on West Main Street, where 33 intersects with I80 east, and looked up to see a Bald Eagle flying low near the cell tower which is less than a hundred yards from where I was standing. The customer I was helping also seemed impressed by the sight.

Re: Bald Eagle sighting near Stroudsburg
They're all over up here. We've got at least one pair that nest here in Gouldsboro every year.
I've almost hit two with my car while they were scavenging road kill. Once on SR 507 going after a dead squirrel and once on I-80 going after a dead deer.
If you want to see them in abundance, wait for a cold winter where the Delaware river freezes up. They will congregate at the large open pools like up at Dingman's Ferry. You can sometimes see as many as 10 eagles in one place.Sed ego sum homo indomitus

I used to see one all the time by Penn Hills over the Broadhead creek. Beautiful creature.

The eagles have short term lease on Kipp Island on Wallenpaupack from Late May to the end of August so they can breed. There is a pair there and I have seen others at the lake. It is cool when they swoop down and grab a fish out of the lake.

Re: Bald Eagle sighting near Stroudsburg
I had 2 immature eagles fly past my house at tree top level, a couple weeks ago, McMichael's Creek, RT. 715.
Have seen them below Analomink on the Brodhead and the 80 toll bridge DWG.
There's also supposed to be several nesting pairs near the Portland generating station. Haven't seen those yet.“When a man cannot chose, he ceases to be a man.”

I live near Gouldsboro. During this past summer, my wife and I were sitting on our back deck. A bald eagle flew through our back yard about 25 feet off the ground with a sparrow in hot pursuit. I guess the eagle got too close to the sparrow's nest.

My neighbor saw a mature bald eagle a week ago at Lake Mineola (Brodheadsville). Sat in a tree at one end of the lake, flew the length of the lake and landed in another tree.

One flew across the road in front of my car yesterday on Rt. 422. It was between Butler and New Castle, just west of I79. First time I've ever seen one. What a beautiful creature.
