    Red face give a gun

    If I give my children a pistol, does it have to be done through an FFL dealer?

    Are your children 18+ and do they live in PA? If so then no, you can gift them a firearm with no FFL.

    I'm assuming you live in PA according to your profile information.

    No. You can gift it to them with no paperwork as long as they are not prohibited to own it but I do believe they have to be 18 years old.

    And as Quack stated also live in PA. Any transfer out of state would need to be through an FFL.

    Yes both have to in order to be an INTRAstate transfer
    Otherwise it's an INTERstate transfer under federal law requiring an FFL
