Default Quest for a pistol caliber carbine.

For some time now I was looking for a decent pistol caliber carbine.
    Hi-points are ugly.
Just right carbine did not have enough unique features. Id rather have 9mm ar.
Sub2000 I thought would be a great pick but out of the box it has 5 FTL out of 50 round American eagle box. Which turned me away immediately. Plus it was kicking like angry mule and left a nice red spot on my shoulder.

Browsing from site to site I found CAI UC-9 which is based on 9mm Uzi platform.
I read some bad reviews but it was either buy one or always want one.

Due to a cold weather I was able to spend no more than 40 minutes with it at the range but this thing ate every single bullet I fed to it. From 147gr Speer to Hornady home defense and Wpa wolf 115gr. Mind you carbine was literally out of the box. Just a snake through the barrel.

    Almost no kick too!

Very pleased and looking forward to spend more time at the range.

PS. Hopefully soon I can add beretta cx4 to the list. However inside voice tells me to get a second Uzi instead.

Not sure if you're asking us something, or telling us something...

I've come to desire "all things carbine" in the realm of firearms.
While I would really like a "full sized" battle rifle, they are generally unwieldy and less fun to shoot - for me.

Gimme a "kid sized" carbine any day of the week. If the rifle comes in different models, I'll take the one with the shortest barrel, please.
Are those short stocks on an AK a deterrent? Not for me - they are just right.
If I buy a shotgun, I need to get a stock that I can fit to my preference because standard stocks just don't fit me.

I love me a handy carbine.

    Here's my most recent one...

    Marlin Model 9 (Camp 9)

I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Oh, I am so jealous of that camp 9! Thanks for the info on the uc-9, too! I do love carbines, especially my m-1.

I know it is not technically a pistol caliber, as it was originally designed for a rifle, but when I hear carbine, I think M1 Carbine in .30 caliber. And yes, the .30 Carbine round is used in pistols like the Ruger Blackhawk.

KRISS Vector AND a Glock 21. Can't go wrong, although the 30-round extended Glock 21 mags with the Magpul-designed KRISS extension take some time to break in and properly hold 30-rounds. Definitely recommend an UpLULA for these - I broke my factory plastic Glock loading tool trying to load up the extended magazines.

Same round (.45 ACP) and 100% reliable magazine swapping - 13-round Glock 21 mags work in the KRISS perfectly (it comes with one 13-round Glock 21 magazine) and the 30-round KRISS magazines work in the Glock 21 perfectly. When hand unloading the mags, the follower seems to hang up where it transitions from the extension to the factory Glock mag, but I've done full 30-round dumps with both the KRISS and Glock and never had the follower hang up when firing it.
