Dingman Township Park
Looking through the Pike County Courier today and came across an article on the Dingman Township park. It says the park has new prohibitions, which includes firearms. I am assuming this includes legally carried firearms, does anyone have any more info?
If so, I know that private businesses can deny firearms, but does a township also have the right to ban legally carried firearms?

Yeah vague ordinance is vague. What is exempted? What is a special permit? This is literally two miles down the road and I used to take my daughter there.

Re: Dingman Township Park
Ahh, there it is. Thanks Streaker69, idk why I didn't think to look there...That's much better then the brief mention in the paper. Still begs the question of what a special permit is, and if it includes LTCF.
I was surprised to see this, as the township is pretty Republican. Not to mention the park is down a dirt road, about a half mile into the woods... Perfect place to run into a situation without a firearm (especially with your child), but I guess we're protected now because as we all know, the bad guys always follow the rules on the signs....
Nathan, idk if you saw the paper or not, but I found it pretty ironic that it was right next to the article about the attempted homicide in Dingmans involving heroin.

I don't recall seeing any signs posted the one time I went in there. The wife wanted to play on the monkey bars..... don't ask.

I think I will pay a visit to the borough and inquire about the details. Is there a site that I can get the state preemption law? I would like to have a copy for my visit.

Re: Dingman Township Park
I was looking through the forum at some old threads and found this:

It seems like people in townships throughout the state are running across the same issue.
