Browning Hi-Power
Looking for a 9mm. This gun would be used for practice (9mm cheaper than 45 ACP) & some carry. My primary carry gun is a 1911 & although I will still use it a primary carry gun it would be nice to have another gun to carry (but not as a backup). Always have liked a Hi-Power but have not seen any at the local dealers. No comfortable buying sight unseen at Gunbroker, especially for the prices that I am seeing. Seems like most nice Hi-Powers are around $900. Not looking for something flawless (this will be a shooter & a carry gun), but want something decent.
If I can't find a nice Hi-Power, I'll get a Sig 226. Also a great gun, but certainly not a good for concealed carry.

Re: Browning Hi-Power
If you peruse the used cases of shops from time to time you may find one. They seem to be hard to come by even used, which was not a case years ago when many were trading them in for the latest, greatest polymer framed stuff. As you have noticed the Hi Power is sized perfectly for 9MM, and 15 round, flush fit Mec Gar mags are available if you want more than the standard.
They are worth the wait. If you want alternatives, look at the CZ line like the 75D PCR, or P-01 for range, and carry.

I also would suggest looking at the CZ line of 9MM's.

I was given an Argentinian Browning, great shooter, never jams, shoots whatever you put in it. Kind of funky black finish, but truly a bargain. My favorite shooter!

Wait for a HP. I have all three (CZ75, P226 and HP). My H p is, by far, my favorite to both shoot and carry.
You see them in the used sections now and then. They are expensive and get gobbled up quick.

I know a shop that has one for $670 or so if you ever get around northern Lancaster county.

Re: Browning Hi-Power
I've got a BHP and it's a damn fine shooter. I'm use to .45 and to shoot this all steel 9MM is really a pleasure. My only concern with mine is the internal extractor. No one is making them and the remaining supply has become scarce.
Keep up the search,,,,, it'll be worth it in the long run.George,
So many guns, so little money.
