Ruger SR45?
Has anyone shot or fondled one of these yet? This might be the next toy on my list. I'm looking for a range and home defense .45acp. I had a Glock 30sf, sold it for a Ruger SR9c (for edc) and never looked back. I already have a 1911 too. I was looking at the M&P .45 (full size) too, but I really like the Ruger SR series.

I've fondled one but never shot it. Nice ergonomics, and I really liked how you could do the arched or flat back strap with the same piece.

Re: Ruger SR45?
If I had the choice between the SR45 and the M&P 45, I'd pick the M&P every time. Not saying there is anything wrong with the Ruger, just that I prefer the Smith.

Re: Ruger SR45?
i haven't handled or fired one but every ruger pistol i own has been a excellent firearm. my old p90 that i bought used for 250 is every bit as accurate and reliable as any other gun i've owned. i don't think you can go wrong with the ruger but the SW M&P series are really nice guns also.

Re: Ruger SR45?
I've only had the opportunity to put a few rounds down range with one. If you liked your glock you'll like the SR45. They handle very similarly. The only problem I had was on the first round I fired the mag dropped out of the gun. Somehow I hit the mag release when the gun recoiled. Otherwise it seemed pretty accurate and ran throught the remaining few rounds i shot out of it fairly accurately.
I was considering the SR 45 and the M&P 45 as a future purchase at the time and I have settled on the M&P when that time comes. I haven't had a chance to shoot the M&P 45 yet but I really like the 9 and 40 versions that I have shot. They just deem to fit me better.

Re: Ruger SR45?
Ruger's SR series pistols are solid pistols and I much prefer them over the M&P line, mainly because I loathe the M&P trigger. Given the price difference, it's a no-brainer in my eyes.

Re: Ruger SR45?
I know a guy who has 3 SR pistols and he swears by them, 2 9MM and an SR45, However Its a little fatter than the SR9, and only holds 10 rounds, Magazines are only at Cabella$ for 44$ each. Yes I have shot it and its reliable and accurate. He got it for $389 out the door in Lancaster county somewhere

Re: Ruger SR45?
I love the looks of it in the pictures, but I'm mildly flamed because I've never seen one to even get to hold it, much less shoot one. Still waiting......
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Re: Ruger SR45?
I have a SR9C and SR45. I really like the triggers on them and I actually shoot them better than my Glock 26 and 19.

Re: Ruger SR45?
Everything I've heard about the SR series has been positive, so most likely the 45 will also be a good gun. It pisses me off to no end though that it only has a 10 round mag, if it were a proper "hi-cap" I'd of bought one already.
