    Default York Co. Sherriffs Office

Can anyone tell me if they have a gun check in this office? I need to pick up my renewed LTCF and for the life of me I cant remember. Well, in my defense, it WAS 5 years ago!

They do; they have checks at both the old courthouse and the new one where the sheriff is located.

EDIT: and they have always been very professional with me!!

Now that I'm thinking about it, wouldn't having a gun check in a city/county building that no longer contains courtrooms, judges offices, or prison cells be a preemption violation?

    Yes.

I was thinking of heading down there today to drop my app off.

Both buildings have courtrooms, I have sat in both, as recently as 2 years ago.

Thanks for setting me straight! I've only sat in the new courthouse for jury duty since it was opened, and I thought the old one was now only prothonitary, land records, etc.

Old building has a huge, beautiful, and ornate courtroom on the 2nd floor. I sat there for 5 hours for voir dire for a murder trial, wasn't picked.

Well, I went in and the Deputies were very professional and showed me where the lockers were. No problems what so ever. The one deputy even was joking with me when I was leaving, saying how great it is to be able to get your LTCF so quick and painless in Pa. Really nice guys!!

I checked my gun there a few times. Never any issue other than the lockers are kinda small for the two guns I had on me the one day. They were professional and didn't give me a hard time
