Re: Revolvers
I'd o with a Ruger Six series gun (Security, Police Service, Speed) with a serial number at or above 152-XXXXX, that way you get the newr frame design and can a lot of different aftermarket grips.
Or go with any year GP100 4", blued or SS.
Both guns are as solid as you can get and they will out last you and probably several generations.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member

Re: Revolvers
It depends on the budget. IMO the used model 10s are the best value out there.
Some people just plain suck.

Re: Revolvers
I can't get into the Hogue finger groove grip on Rugers. I went back to the original grip after trying one for a while. In my opinion it feels and looks right

Re: Revolvers
I don't like fingergroove grips in general because they never fit my hand right. The exception is the grip that was custom made for my old bullseye gun.
As an aside, I remember when Hogue would custom make grips for you. They'd send you a block of molding compound and your make a form of your hand and send it back to them. Oh, those were the days. Nope, I never had any made.

Re: Revolvers
If memory serves, they were $29.95 back in the 70s. So probably about $150 to $200 today.

Re: Revolvers
Would recommend any of the S&W Model 10s or their older brothers the M&P series. Yes, S&W took a magnificent old name and applied it to their modern "Tupperware", much to my chagrin. I have many M&Ps in calibres from 32-20 (the oldest from 1906) to the Model 11 (UK 380-200) and all still go bang and put the bullet where they are pointed. As mentioned above, any of the Model 13, 15 or 19s are also well worth looking at. Dave_n
