pick one Of these three 22 revolvers
Thinking of getting myself an early Christmas present. I sold my Heritage 22 and want to get another 22 Revolver. But want something a little better than the Heritage. I have a WTB add on here. However you just don’t see many 22 Revolvers used for sale. The three I have it narrowed down to are A used Colt Scout 60s era, The Bluing is a little ruff but a good price $150.00. Buds have a Ruger Bearcat for $420.00 or A Taurus 94 for $320.00. I have read some complaints on the forums on the Taurus so I am not real sure if I even want the Taurus.

I'd take the Colt unless there was a mechanical fault.

Re: pick one Of these three 22 revolvers
buy the colt if you choose to fix it up you have a fun winter time project.
That being said if you don't want a gunsmithing project taurus has a lifetime warranty if your not happy send it in they will fix it up. I have heard great things about their customer service.
You can often find a used H&R 22 revolver from 140 to 200 and i have found them to be good solid choices.

Re: pick one Of these three 22 revolvers
Thanks guys. I need to look the Colt over. He said it is Mechanically sound, no rust just in need of a Bluing. From the prices I saw on Gun broker it’s a steel at $150.00.

Its a no brainier. Buy the colt. At the price you can afford to get a second one.

Of those three I'd probably go for the Colt.
Although for less then the price of the Bearcat personally I'd be looking at a Bounty Hunter made by Weirauch in Germany.
They are imported by EAA.
Well built. Sounds like it should when cocking the hammer (like a Colt).
Has a Ruger licensed hammer bar safety.
Best value for a SAA clone.

Re: pick one Of these three 22 revolvers
If I only have those three, I'd go for the Colt (with a functionality guarantee) or the Bearcat. Ruger makes some fine .22s. If single action is your thing, watch for a Ruger Single Six or Single 10. The Bearcat is an okay substitute. There are more options with pistols, but more potential issues as well. As was mentioned before, there are a lot of older H&Rs around, and they are well-made guns, at least the vintage ones.

Re: pick one Of these three 22 revolvers
If the Colt is in good shape, don't think you can go wrong at that price! I agree with old H&R's, I love all of mine - the 999 Sportsman is sweet. I have been hit or miss with Taurus, I stay away from semi's but still pick up revolvers and have not had any issues. My brother picked up a new 22 Tracker and likes it, but has had a problem with the cylinder not sitting correctly - Taurus service was excellent and had the gun back to him in no time repaired properly. Good luck!
