Winchester SX1 Trigger Group Malfunction
Hi all. Just acquired a Winchester Super X Model 1. This is my first semi shotgun, so I know almost nothing about them. Right now, the gun fires, ejects, and autoloads just fine; but only cocks if it's cycled manually.
I found that the pivot pin for the disconnector is missing. Is this most likely the cause of the problem, or do I more likely have some sort of sear-related part that's broken or out of spec?
It's confusing me because I've never seen a functional autoloading shotgun trigger group, so I don't know how they are supposed to work. It seems to me that if the trigger disconnector were the problem, it wouldn't cock by hand either. I'm leaning more towards a weak sear spring. The sear and hammer notches are clean and show the original tooling marks, and everything appears to be free of noticeable wear and breakage.
Thoughts? Thanks in advance for any you might share.Last edited by win67; November 18th, 2013 at 10:42 PM.

Re: Winchester SX1 Trigger Group Malfunction
Can't provide help for your specific problem but NuLine Guns is the foremost authority on the Super X Model 1 these days. They have the largest parts inventory in the US on them. They have also done a video about them including maintenance/care and they do custom work on them.

Maybe you could send them just the trigger group for repair?
