Ok - simple yes/no OC question :)
I live in bucks county.
I have a Pennsylvania license to carry firearms
Can I open carry?
(Previously on other forums, I have read that you can only OC if you do NOT have a PA license to carry)
For the "use the search feature" guys reply, I have read and understood from the writings on this site that it is legal for me to since there is no law going into the OC rights.. so yes, I have searched/read...
I know the pros/cons of different types of carry.. Just want to know the legality of this question
Thanks!

As long as you are LEGALLY allowed to own a firearm .. YES..... you CAN OC. You only need a LTCF is you carry concealed, such as in your vehicle... EXCEPT in the locations where firearms are NOT permitted according to State Statutes...

Yes. With an LTCF you can legally OC throughout the commonwealth.
Be wary what you read on "other websites" regarding the legality of OC, or any other gun laws for that matter
Be sure to check out the Pa Gun Rights flyer:
http://www.pafoa.org/forum/concealed...carry-you.html
And for open carry in Pennsylvania, www.paopencarry.org whould answer many of your questions.

Ok - thanks for clearing that up.
Was under the asumption that I could carry OC up until the point where I GOT the LTCF.. then once I had that.. I had to carry concealed only.

I think you've already answered your own question.
Welcome to the wonderful world of truths.
(For the record, yes, you can legally OC. Even if you have a LTCF)

Re: Ok - simple yes/no OC question :)
First off, welcome to the forums, were happy to have you, and best of luck on OCing. This following comment is not in any way directed at you, but at the places for 'authorative information' that give out tidbits like this one and others. I too was steered wrong when I first got into carrying by statements just like that one, and I had to take my lumps asking the "silly" questions. Now...
That is the most retarded statement I have ever heard.
Where the hell do people get this crap? Its like saying its legal to ride a bike, but you cant once you have a drivers liscence; you must drive your car. Ive heard this statement, that CC in PA is illegal unless your LEO, that a LTCF is only a liscence to OC, and theres a different liscence just for CC, that if you have any contact with any LEO for any reason, you must declare your firearm, and offer its temporary confiscation to the LEO. No, Im not kidding, this has come from other gun owners, LEOs, and even gun store employees (gasp!).
Its why I love places like this one, where people not only give you the straight scoop, but offer to give you direct reference to the current written law. Gives one more confidence in doing something when they can back it up with more that "Ted down at the gun range said I could".
