Yesterday was my first time carrying concealed. I was using a revolver model 620 357 4 inch. Can someone recommended a course on conceal carry near Albrightsville Pa

Glad it went well for you! Your thinking is definitely right, training is always a good idea, regardless of skill level. Welcome to the forum!

Not familiar with your neck of the woods but congrats on your LTCF and welcome to the forum. Places like Gander Mountain and Bass Pro usually have literature on upcoming training classes.

Dynamic Force Institute is located a little over an hour's drive from where you are. It's in Hunlock Creek, PA. Bob is a certified NRA instructor who has a multitude of class offerings as well as private lessons.
Here' same link:
Dynamic Force Institute
Pocono Pistol Club in Stroudsburg is about 20 minutes closer, but you have to watch for classes. They don't really have them on a regular basis. They too offer individual lessons/training.

Congradulations. Echoing what others have said about training.
Also, make sure you are really comfortable with your holster. No pinch points or anything. This will keep you from fiddling with it while you are out.

Re: first time LTCF
What type of pistol or revolver do you carry and what type of holster. I would like to carry a revolver its simple and ease of use. I have a hard plastic holster and its not that comfortable to sit in the car. I like to get a leather one. Thanks for the info on the classes. These are my choices to carry.
1. SW model 620 357 4 inch
2. SW model 625 45acp 4 inch
3. SW model 686 plus 4 inch
Or should I go with a pistol. All my training in use of firearms is military. Carrying as a civilian is different.Last edited by cardonasharp; November 16th, 2013 at 10:35 PM.

Re: first time LTCF
All three of those are very good carry choices.
Nothing wrong with that.
If you like em, are comfy with em, and can shoot them well, I see no reason not to carry one of those.
Good belt and holster are key.
If I had those choices I'd probably carry the 625.
Already cut for moonclips and puts big holes in stuff.
I carry a K frame in a S&W Galco Silhouette quite often.
Very comfortable.
I can imagine the N frame model will work just as nicely.

Re: first time LTCF
I carry either a 1911 or a XD45. Why? because a carried a 1911 all my adult life in and out of the military. It fits my hand better than revolvers and points better too. YMMV. The XD has the same grip angle as the 1911 and the finger groves on a glock don't fit my fingers.
