I went to the website this afternoon to renew my membership for 2014
and got this. "This Account Has Been Suspended" across the screen.

Anyone have any idea? I'm sure there are a number of reasons, thought someone here has some insight.

Right now no one can renew their membership online. If you did not get a renewal form in the mail, you should contact someone on the board, preferably the membership secretary. It might be something that simple. Then again, maybe you did something naughty.

No, I don't know what you mean, especially since that is not what you wrote. What you wrote is:

What account? Yours? The web hosting account? I did not go out and check. Perhaps if you are a little more clear in your question, you would get the answer you want. Regardless of whether it is your account or the website itself, my response is still accurate. If you want to renew, it is going to be on paper the old fashioned way. I was at the meeting Monday night where they reiterated that. So once again, if you did not get a paper in the mail, you had better check with the secretary. One other thing they did was change the bylaws so that if you are more than a month late in renewing, you are coming in like a new member again. That means $60 instead of $30, and it is very likely you will have to be sponsored.

ETA: I went and looked at the website, so now your nebulous question is a little more clear. I don't know. I have some ideas, but I am not really keen on discussing them.

I think it has to do with what happened earlier in the year when members got an email about someone not handing over passwords to email or something like that. I guess a members kid or something like that built the websight and having issues with said member. I know they have been in talks with a new website host/builder but have been dragging their feet.

It appears they needed to change the domain name. I agree with the above where they had problems with the board members who had the keys to the online kingdom.

Hopefully in the future the club members can act like adults and not kids when they don't get their way, but it appears that is not not gonna happen here.....
