Default scope for AR too low?

Got a scope second hand and trying to put on my AR. However, when I do, it appears as if the scope sits too low. Do I need larger rings for it? any other options? I can't see through the scope, only the bottom 1/4 to 1/2.

I use leupold mark 4 super high rings on a ar15 flat top. I have 40mm and 50 mm objective.

using rings is a half-assed approach.

I would just get some new rings that are the correct height for your needs.

I have the Burris P.E.P.R. QD mount, and highly recommend it.
