    Default First buck on video.

Not sure how to embed a video but the link is here

    Buck on Video

I've not had this buck on camera before. Looks like something happened to his left antler. I've not had a buck with normal antlers on camera all year...

I'm wondering why he was acting so skiddish around the camera. The camera was on the tree where my stand is. It's been a week since I visited it last. None of the does walking through have ever been as jumpy. Is it a rut thing?

I always say to myself I won't shoot a buck before second week at camp. I think I'd have taken this guy for sure.

At the 4 second mark he is in the same location as when I shot the deer earlier this year. Would have been perfect if I was in the stand yesterday...

My tree stand is there. The Doe don't act this strange when coming through.

I've never seen this buck before. The tree stand has been there since Mid-August. I hadn't been to the tree stand for 6 days prior to this guy running though.

I have a burlap cover over the seating area, maybe that was moving around? Maybe the rope I have to hoist up my bow was swaying?

The trail goes right under my stand. Maybe he didn't think he could get through?

    I'm really not sure.....

Very cool! Who knows why he was acting like that... he definitely smelled something by the looks of it?

I was getting 8-10 pictures a week every week since I put the camera up in August. Mostly Doe. The area is used heavily by deer but there are a number of trails. This is only one of the trails.

I put that evercalm stink stink up two weeks ago. Hung it off a branch at the top of the stand. That week I got 29 pictures.

I took it down after a week then I switched this camera to video. I'm thinking I'm going to hang it back up!!

ya he knew something was not right, and looked like he was smelling for something....

if it really threw him off i think he would of bolted, the fact that he hung around a bit i think he may have been slightly intrigued but yet cautious at the same time?

I hope so. I don't have much choice on location of this stand.

I was looking at his left antler again. If you make the video larger you'll see he has something like a wire or something hanging off his ear. Looks like a zip tie.
