That slide doesn't appear to function too smooth.

Yeah, looks like sticky slide to me at first. Seemed to smooth our a little later in the video though. I'd take one.

Re: Worlds First 3D Printed Metal gun
Pretty damn impressive for the first metal 3D print. Technology will continue to improve doing to things, driving down the cost of the machine/cost of manufacture and improving quality. Bets on how long until the government starts trying to ban the more advanced 3D printers?

I'll chalk that up to break in/lube. Looks pretty dry. Damn accurate though. @1:55.

Well it is a 1911
nah, I agree with the above poster who said it was most likely an issue with break in. They probably didn't do a whole lot of polishing before they put it together.
I'm concerned about the metallurgy though, how long is it going to last without proper heat treat?

Re: Worlds First 3D Printed Metal gun
Questions arise in MY mind (such as- hardness, yield, tensile strength, etc.) as well. Neat concept.
As for government - remember when laser color printers first arrived on the scene? The Government got their knickers in a twist over counterfeiting of money. They were that good that even experienced T-men could not tell with the naked eye. So now we use felt-tip markers.
